Why do some feel a lurcher as to take hares to be any good? or bred a certain way to be good?

I've seen some great runs on hares over the years but to me a good lurcher is a lot more than a hare dog .

There not just hare dogs mate they can do ote better than any other type of lurcher there incredible

More bull in the dog than sal ,I'm not after no hare dog ,my dogs are freezer fillers and hares are nasty tasting things and no place in my freezer

I give um away some folks like eating um nice bit o munty for me but saluki bloods can't deal wi there jaggy toe nails

If the dogs take one it goes in to their feed yes munty my favourite,and no shortage of them round my way to point they come into the gardens at night .

I always thought the term lurcher ment it should be an all-rounder,take fur and feathers...a good lurcher is every calibre of bullet ..you should ever need not just a dog that specialises in the one quarry type
