He hung around for about 2 year, he'd appear on the kennel roof crowing like fcuk after being away for a couple of days then never to return. Heard years later while in village pub having a pint that a local pigeon man shot him with an air rifle for going into his loft and steeling eggs and youngsters. Shame I rather liked him I hand reared a crow a few years back and let it out for a fly about like i had done before and it never came back, a fella a field away keeps racing pigeons and i think he did the same to my crow...
shaaark 11,321 Posted yesterday at 17:47 Report Share Posted yesterday at 17:47 I think a lot of us on here have done a bit of hand rearing a jackdaw or Maggie etc, especially when we were kids. 90% of kids these days have no idea. Quite sad, really.

My uncle reared one and it was some character, it used to drive him mad cos it used to steal his cigs and lighters. He had a Patterdale and a cranky old Russell at the time, they thought it had something wrong with it cos it sounded like it was coughing all the time but it was just copying the dogs when they barked. The patterdale was fine with it but one morning he went in to the shed and the cranky Russell had killed it, little b*****d he was.
