Few more weeks will be in September Scotty. We don't have seasons over here now. The climates f****d. Was looking other day at some cover that's normally up. Black berry cover. Due to do rain the covers down. The heats knocked it back. All the blackberry have dried up in some areas. For guys who've got young dogs on. Last night with the wind was ideal for showing them some young bunnies on lamp On grass land.

It’s not just the seasons, Bangers, it’s about the crops coming down , the ground and most importantly letting the animals breed and the young get a start in life.

If we kill the young’uns, there’d be nothing left to hunt in the hunting season.

As I’ve said before, if you want to summer hunt, for whatever reason, that’s up to you, but it’s not for me.

Cheers.

Folk who purposefully run quarry in the summer with lurchers , particularly young rabbits and hares are not for me

Genuinely can’t think of an advantage to it

This pup be from spring off the lead until next season using its nose killing ill just let it do that I think it does them the world a good mate

So if a dogs born in august 2023

it would be a year old in August 2024

and you two would be hunting it all over summer 2024?

when the stubbles been cut and the dark nights start in winter 2024 , what advantages have you gained by hunting all summer with it ?

That can all be done in the early part of the season

Mines out daily now mate ill have it on the lead this  season when I'm coursing watching  when not it will be off the lead I'll run a few back end this season before a year old then all spring summer leave it to hunt  about the young brain I'd absorbing everything why let it absorb a kennel or garden or football field?

Why don’t the summer hunters just admit it instead of all the excuses;

”farmer asked me to do it”,

”Will lose my permission if I don’t do it”,

”pest control”,

No one believes them, they are only lying to themselves.

Cheers.

Same here, my bitch comes into season in march , a perfect time, seasons ended, plenty time for her to relax over the summer and start getting her fit around now for the start of the season about mid-September.

Cheers.
