I had a dog shot by a keeper, early 70’s.
There’s lads been done already for going equipped they had running dogs in the motor and were driving around the lanes at the fens, I think they were from Manchester.

Cheers.

I got done out on a little  walk  local in summer one red hot afternoon .  with two lurchers. No intent of hunting just a walk. Convicted of trespass with intent to search for or pursue hares. As you said you’re guilty just by having a running dog alongside you. f**k the law it’s your god given right

I believe the 'going equipped' law started right here, from local kids on their way to run Altcar estate. They got nicked crossing Lunt Lane, dogs thermal etc. Went to court, no brief, an 'example' to be made, and they changed the law.

We now have regular patrols along the roads that surround the estate, looking for those equipped. Lunt Lane is the last road between North Liverpool and Altcar, as well as daily road patrols, they sit day and night over the two footbridge crossings. Thing is, as McH says, if you've got your wits, and you think one step ahead, it's just business as usual.

Surely you have previous though, if not they can get to fcuk, how on earth can they pin that on you when as far as they know you're walking the dogs.

Depending on the area, if it's 'known' or not, then it's dog types, dress, a thermal, binoculars etc.

They don't really care, if something 'fits' then they will try and pin it. For them, if nothing else, they will just feck your operations up for a season, till its concluded, one way or another....

Keeper, farmer & rural sergeant all stood against in court. Got Clive Rees in case but didn’t stand a chance. Hes not worth a toffee wouldn’t advise any one using him.  Clitheroe area hot as France as been since god were a lad and local rural task force want to make examples of foke. That day they won the battle but not the war

The two “going equipped “ laws were amendments to an existing law, so they went through without a vote, not that it would have made any difference apart from it being more discussed.

Anyone thinks it’s nothing, is in for a big shock.
It’s almost as if “innocent until proven guilty” had been reversed !
I could be coming back from a lurcher show and get a pull, it would then be up to me to prove I’d been at a show, not coursing.

Cheers.

Strange that, cos iv used Clive a couple times, first time he told me to take the guilty in the kangaroo magistrates court an we would 110% win the appeal at crown, I did an we did, the other lad who got done with me shit himself at the guilty and signed his terriers  over to that cnuting charity haha I got it over turned a few month later. Second time was lurchers an he told me we would get a not guilty an we did, I can’t say nowt bad about the man, treated me like a gent an stuck by his word 👍

Ain’t the badger act the only law that’s says the onus is on the defendant to prove there innocence, rather than for the prosecution to prove your guilt? Could be wrong on that one tho it’s been a wee while haha

The badger act 'was' the only law...

Explain then why the majority are still at it and getting away with it, it's not pure luck or coincidence.

Because there hunting land close to home most probably a stone throw away with good numbers. Mostly wont be on flat land. Mc has it all over there. Flat but alot of ground flinty. Some bogged out ground too. Summer stubbles for the summer hunters. But once them fields are turned over the ground on alot around east Yorkshire coastal area. Are very flinty. Make a mess of your dogs feet. Over this way lands full of livestock land. Land isnt that decent for a coursing dog you need to go further a field. Its okay to bring a pup on that's about it. Most places now that's got decent land are on fire.
