A friend of mine id like to mention he's coming up 60 now he keeps a right good like of pure saluki iv seen these dogs stop some real toppers over the years especially his smooth bitch and a daughter

Also coursed greyhounds and ran in the waterloo cup as said at almost 60 now his dogs are still the best conditioned you'll ever see and a nice man he is, those pups at the top are one week old and ho

I didn't post this Purley about salukis no pun intended just saw the site flat n was thinking what my pal had done had good lurchers competed with whippets competed with greyhounds and competed with salukis in the original saluki cup n continued running them when that folded I don't know anyone that's managed to be successful on hares with all the different types and at 64 although always humble his dogs are still always bang on and look great what is it he says don't worry whatever anyone else is doing or not doing or thinking or worrying just go and work your dog it's been a good life..

He sounds like a good running dog man; no breed blindness, willing to try different types and different dog sports.

Training a saluki to win a coursing cup and a whippet to become a Racing Champion means he knows how to condition a dog and get it ready for a competition !

What’s the rough going rate for working pure salukis ?

Some stunning Salukis on this topic.. I met the guy at a show a couple of years ago.. he had a couple of nice purses with him then. My mate bought a pup of him last year (or maybe 2 years ago). Stunning little thing, probably only about 22/23 inch.

I had one similar off him 15 year ago in the car she'd put her head on your shoulder all the way till you got to the land and on walks she'd just walk by your side didn't need a lead and a quick bitch nice n tight on em small but well put together.
