Got into an argument in a boozer earlier on defending an old icon.....according to a few boss eyed f****n idiots in my local British society is just waiting for David Jason to pop his clogs before announcing that he was one of Jimmy Savilles lot........pleeeease no,i couldnt take it 

Apparently its a big topic of discussion on social media platforms etc anybody who does that stuff ?........it'd break my heart if he was !!

If theres no strength in it ( which im sure theres not ) then what a disgusting sign of the times when a national icon like that who has brought so much joy into several generations of lives could be totally despised and deminished in such a way......social media could do with banning in my opinion.

It's not just petty, it's just evil and twisted isn't it. I'm sure he hasn't always been whiter than white, I mean who has, but you can't just spread malicious rumours around like that with no evidence whatsoever.

The David Jason rumours have been around over a decade now, and not sure there’s ever actually been any allegation or investigation. It’d be a shame if they turned out to have any substance. Nothing tends to surprise me now though.
As said, this stuff finds fuel with the gossip-mongers and ambulance chasers in Facebook and the like.., and there seems to be no recourse for the insinuations and slurs made against individuals. I don’t do FB etc. but I believe the law is quick to jump all over people making comments that might be construed as racist, sexist, homophobic etc., but no help to anyone being falsely accused of these things.

Which is ridiculous in my opinion. I think the abuse of vulnerable kids was rife across society and existed anywhere there was opportunity, in schools, children’s homes, churches, all manner of sports and activities.., blind eyes turned in all of them. The BBC with the fame and stardust of some of its staff provided opportunity, but I don’t subscribe to the notion that it was/is one big enabling ring. Things are seldom black and white, and I reckon there’ll be good people caught up in all this historical stuff take guilt to their grave that they should have seen or said something. Said before on here, companies, churches, football teams etc. don’t rape kids, people do that.., and those that do, or enable those that do, should be hung drawn and quartered as a deterrent to others, and to provide actual justice for their victims.

That wouldn't bother me in the slightest, I've had mates who think hunting for sport is wrong, I can actually understand their argument, but if it's in you it's in you, impossible to change, if hunting is your thing it just is in some form or another.

Whats it based on though ?......i find it sickening that such labels can be thrown around willy nilly.....ok its internet/social media talk in most cases but still people must hold some sort of moral value in the words they speak and repeat........no ?

You couldnt walk around your local town casually spreading rumours like that without something to back it up......what a sickly world social media must be.
