Phil passed away yesterday 09.05.2025. One of the UKs finest dog men who did a lot for the game over the many many years he lived and breathed it. My condolences go out for his lovely wife R

It has been a privilege to be Phil's friend, work colleague, and occasional hunting partner/photographer. We worked on "stuff" outside of the pest control/lurcher world together and had a good laugh

Me with my brindle bitch bonnie...Phil in the middle and his mate paul on the right...bolting to the dogs up on the high ground

Very sad news, a true gentleman and dare I say it, an icon of our sport.

Our paths crossed infrequently in this country and I’m sure we tred some of the same paths in our sojourns to the Middle East.

My condolences to his family and friends…..

Charts.

As that not lurcher mania ?

Can't remember tbh. It must have been late 90's or around 2000. I think he had it up on the Dales but also filmed some clips down south, more local to where he lived.

Yeah might have them mixed up, did Phil have a merle on Lurcher Mania?

I've definitely seen one with Phil in, you never forget that accent once you've heard it. Lol

I recall watching one with Phil sure it was lurcher mania with speckle his cattle dog cross lamping some stubbles and then giving a run down on different lamps that's also written about in the booklets that Phil produced years ago.

Devastated to hear of the passing of Phil, spoke to him over the phone many times over the year's. He gave me advice when I asked for it & was an inspiration to me when I was just a young lad. A very knowledgeable man & more importantly a humble & honest fella too. I can recall his Lurcher Journal's some 40 plus year's ago now long before his recent publications, they were inspiring to say the least..Deepest condolences to his nearest & dearest.. sleep easy Phil ❤️

From a fellow moucher..
