Yeah I had her booked in for 9 this morning vet said to keep her hydrated and will be ok but she was downhill too fast she had 2 shits like it but only near end. Honestly there's not much warning now I know what it is and what to look for others will be at vets straight away even if they just seek off a bit. My young lads just got home from school little man's heartbroken 💔

Poor kid he will be wounded, hope it don’t put him off the dogs, it’s easy done when you got such a bond with a decent yin.

just be aware aswell mate I know you hunt around these parts, there’s a few cases a parvo an that kicking about in leyburn an bedale an a couple other daft spots an the local rivers are getting sewage pumped into them so also a few dogs going down hill fast after being in them, from what I can gather tho it does seem to the local hotspots where folk walk there dogs that’s been reported, so stay away from them areas

My point being, to mitres reply, Gooey, is the fact that the poor fellas pup is already dead, which mitre obviously hadn't picked up on.

Same here, got them 24 hours.

For such stuff mine are insured. I wouldn't take em for anything hunting related, but for general illness, I use that. My old dog I got from Joe Ox has a tumor in it's colon, that was all done on insurance. Saved us a pretty penny. If a dog damaged itself hunting, I'll treat it, and if I can't it's time to say goodbye...

If they were ripped, i can stitch or staple myself mate.

Broken legs would be a different matter. I wouldn't be taking a dog to my vets, all anti's in there, wouldn't have any knowing my business.

Thankfully I've not had such an injury for over 20 years, and these days I've got a couple of close friends who can instantly deal with a situation like that.

Way back when, I'd have to book the dog in to see two friends of mine, Mr Spear & Mr Jackson...
