ive run everything a top hare killer is the dog thats the hardest to get for running the hare is the ultimate for a running dog very few make the grade

And that's why they can be quite tricky to kill, because they don't have a long neck inviting a throat hold like a roe deer. They are small, short and compact, sturdy little things.

My old coursing dog was great on the hares. He was well bred (dickensons Red x a bitch out of lucky), but he wasn’t an aggressive dog. He caught a few deer but didn’t really want to kill them. He would grab the leg, let go, catch them again etc. That come from the farthers side I think as the mum loved to kill stuff. My dog was pretty gay though.. didn’t cock his leg and looked like a girl
