mushroom 13,958
Isn’t the 2.5 diesel the same engine they had in the Nissan vanette cargos? If it is, stay well away! More power in a fatty trolly in ASDA. Mine used to drive me insane on the M65, going uphill past Blackburn, doing 45-50mph, foot to the floor being overtaken by artics
forest of dean redneck 12,017
Wouldn’t piss on a T5/6 , I had a 97 t4 lwb caravelle that was a 2.5 n/ a think it was a Audi designed engine had that for few years and was a reliable bus sat at 90 on the M4 until I had to have the spindle o ring done and I think they either didn’t set it up right or it had been tweaked before as it was gutless like they were supposed to be . I wouldn’t have a modern vw at all sooner have a Toyota like a hiace .
Daniel cain 48,202
I personally wouldn't touch a T5/T6, few of my mates have spent 50k plus on Thiers,go to all the shows etc...the new generation of vans are owned by flash drug dealers , Turkey teeth,Mrs with the fish lips etc and miserable cnuts that have just bought into the 'Lifestyle' they are shunned by the die hards lol..Sold my T2 with a twin turbo legacy lump probably 12 years back...one reason was nobody would speak to us at the shows the soft c**ts....I used to love driving to a meet...closer you get,the more old air cooled shit boxes you see on the side of the road...or best still being brought to a meet on the back of a recovery truck..they are all over inflated for what they are, only good for 2 adults to spend a night away...just too small and no room in them

Anymore than 1 night away in it and you will be sorry...they not even that nice to drive imo
mushroom 13,958
Better off buying an old 7.5T Iveco or DAF and doing it up. plenty of room and the engines are built for doing distance.

If planning on doing up a 7.5T then it’s defo worth it. See some online going for less than 10k, another 10k to do it up, you’ve got years of travel in comfort. They'd be class if the UK was bigger imo

Seem to remember something about if it’s converted and not for commercial use you don’t need to use one. Something about hire or reward as part of a business. My cousin had a horse box and could drive without using one when she was transporting horses to shows but not if she was selling a horse and delivering it. I could be remembering wrong though
