No motor is cheap to buy now whatever the manufacturer of car you are after if you do touch lucky to get some thing it pays you to get checked over by some one or look on a car check site for a back ground check you also may need to pay out for something later on as some older cars do have wear and tear as our youngest as found out in the past he had cars years ago with no MOT and proper logbook that was before car check sites were about good thing they are if you got on the right one it pays to check up

My thoughts on high mileage bangers. I've got 3 motors , a van for my buisness  which I drive 6 days a week, a audi S5 which I very very rarely drive and my doggin bus ( no it's not for sex in car parks lol ). Just an old banger I spend the other 50% of my time driving, it's a citroen C4 with 170,000 on. Paid peanuts for off my mate who owns a garage. The car was a mate of his who was in the navy on the subs and used the car to drive up to Scotland and back for work. So all motorway miles and well serviced and history. I've always ad a banger knocking about for the dogs and tip runs and stuff. Basically don't give a fcuk about them, so if they get scratched or damaged or stolen or taken off you. Because they haven't cost a lot , not a lot to loose. Plus can get full of sh1t inside and smell and no one gets in it apart from me the dog and a mate. So high mileage bangers I love em. Back in the day when active with the dogs ( retired now ) I've had windows put through , tyres slashed . Bonnet scratched with a message on lol. You wouldn't of wanted that to happen to your new shiny motor on finance lol. So bangers always been the way forward. Also cheaper than a skip when doing jobs on the house .

I think if you do your homework even if you know little about cars some bargains can be had yes some are money pits and some need scrapping, but some send off to the scrappers because they've either failed the MOT or there old and due there MOT and expected to fail or the car isn't running right and they expect it to be an expensive fix or was told it could be but alot can be saved..

I went to look at one recently it was running poor so spares n repairs and also 20 odd year old but I'd checked the previous mot's online before hand and it had flew through all aswell as no advisories so was definitely worth a look, I took it for a spin n juddery so not right but manageable I pulled over n had a quick look and also a look in the glove box to look for any history n there was loads n all the right ones and id also had this model before and although they don't look the best it had been a right gudden n id gotten that real cheap aswell so I managed to get the car for 350 went to the part shop the next day got 4 new spark plugs 4 quid each and a coil pack and jobs a gudden put 1500 miles on since.
