Think they'd take the piss anyway
tatsblisters 10,925
I think men wearing wigs or toupees have always been a figure of fun. A lad I worked with at the pit and a keen pigeon flyer who was pretty bald used to wear one on nights out a jet black one at that. I had to look twice first time I saw him in it and he reckoned it made him look like Sean Connery My mate nicknamed him beatle wig . I can understand women wearing them especially those going through chemotherapy but not men.

Do we like the natural look or something that really makes a statement? Asking for a friend. Lad I used to work with had one...he was bald like me but came to work one day with this real neat hair cut...took me a few mins to realise who it was.... These new ones are glued in place but you have to let your hair grow first round the sides then they fade it in....if it's done right it looks really good...as did his... The wife's hairdresser does them...Mrs asked me if I would do it...I would but only for a 1 off event ....can you imagine the shit you get of your work mates...lol...and to be honest going bald never really bothered me...as soon as I started receeding down the sides ...then out came the Bic and off it went..

Yep when I was younger I had a really thick head of hair as does all my mothers side.In the late 80s early 90s it was down past my shoulders and I'd have it tied back in the typical ravers ponytail. Then my mum pointed out it was getting a bit thin right on top and I'd probably loose it quite early like my uncle did and that was it I shaved the lot off.No way was I gunna look like one of the sad twats you see trying to pretend they've got a full head of hair

Same here, I shit you not, mine started going in the space of two haircuts. Lol I was always destined to go bald, my old man is, but the style back in the day was the mullet and blonde streaks, I think that killed my hair, made it go like straw. I can remember it now, full head of thick hair before, the next haircut there was a hell of a parting, I was squirming uncomfortably as my scalp was revealed, the hairdresser was taken aback. My late wife wore a wig when she first had chemo ( it looked completely real), but when the cancer came back , and she was having chemo for the second time, she just said " f**k it " , and wore a bandana . In all honesty , the bandana looked cool as f**k , and really suited her. 6

I did until my early twenties and then in the space of one haircut i turned in to a dandelion head, one blow and it would have been all gone. This styling putty I used didn't help matters at all. Without the streaking, straightening and putty I reckon I could have made it until my 30's. Lol
