Yes when it takes a minute to even put a bend in then another minute find any sort of control then when you think your dog is getting somewhere your 3 minutes in and your dog may throw a faint or may well have a go but the timing is slightly out or this particular hare has been here before and remains calm, inches close but not close enough and before you know it the hare has pulled 5 10 15 20 yards on your dog but somehow your dog manages to get back to it n that hare may pull a few times "we've all been there need a strong dog that likes strong hares"

in n out of copses along dykes looking for that hole and your dog running alongside both the dog and dyke knowing or having to learn about that hole keeping it away needs to be relentless but also clever the hare will keep trying and either get in or realise on this day it can't and go for a plan b witch all these top hares have is a plan b and now it can be a case of one is guna die but which one will it be

Tbh mate I have always liked and had lurchers with decent pace as I also lamped with them aswell and never really had a very heavy saturated saluki type as i never ran my dogs on the fens or big land that often and my best hare catching lurchers I've owned though not in the same class as these coursing lurchers that's about in the last decade or more were lamping lurchers put to saluki hybrids though they both had 3 minutes in the tank and a decent recovery rate and good mouths. Never been into matching just enjoyed a day's coursing and a nights lamping and ferreting.

Bet you had alot of fun it's a good type n 3 minutes is still a good amount in the tank isn't it..

Certainly had some fun over the years with lurchers mate since getting my first one in the 70s and met some good lads along the way a few sadly no longer with us.

Iv done both aswell over the years mate lamping n daytime n had saluki types n hardly any saluki types love it

I think a hard working lamper or alrounder type put to a good saluki or line bred coursing type be good for most people now wouldn't it?

That Kim you like was out of an irish lurcher with no or little saluki in wasn't it put to a saluki.
