jukel123 9,976
It's strange how supporters have 'second' teams. My birthright team is Man U. But I like Liverpool except when we are playing them. I was hoarse supporting them in 2005 when they won the European Cup. Hate Chelsea, Spurs, Millwall and especially Arsenal. Like Everton because they are underdogs to Liverpool. Love Forest because I admired Cloughie so much. Like Sunderland after their FA cup win, hate Newcastle because they sacked Bobby Robson, but sometimes don't mind them because their supporters are so damned loyal . Don't mind West Ham, moons ago they used to play stylish attacking football and won the World,Cup. Love Leicester after their fairytale season. And truly detest Leeds, Bolton W and Man City. Glasgow Rangers have their own little box in my head full of loathing and bigotry going back hundreds of years. It's a funny old game. WILF 51,425
I watched a match of the day from 1999 the other day, wow !……Manchester United v can’t remember now, Charlton v Blackburn at the valley……just way better, more energy, more aggressive, more physical, proper forwards having battles, proper mid fielder's having battles, defenders actually defending…..proper players all over the show. Ive genuinely watched about an hour of premier league football this season and just switched it off. I watched Dorking Wanderers and a team formed by the lads at Bunch Of Amatures who are starting off in step 17 have their first ever friendly pre season, I watched some East Thurrock Utd as well……all of it way more enjoyable that premier league ! I watched Milan v Juventus yesterday, in that game was Pirlo, Maldini, Seedorf, Ibrahimovich, Inzagi to name but a few……I’m sorry, I know we have rose tinted specs but you just won’t get that game today. I watched another thing and there was the best comment ever from Mattarazzi I think, he said when asked about Messi and Christiano Ronaldo that “if you add the two of them together you MIGHT get R9 !” Listening to John sitton talk in the back of his black cab is way better and more insightful than listening to Pep talk bollocks ! Cheers. Never really had a 2nd team, and to be honest football took 2nd place to dog sports once into my teens (got barred from going on school trips when I quit the sports teams and was often made to spend games lessons walking around the pitch carrying a medicine ball along with the fat and "delicate" kids as a further punishment ), but if there was a 2nd it would also have been Liverpool. Simply because my mam loved them as her uncle had played for them. Not liked them too much in recent years though.
eastcoast 4,676
WHU v NUFC. Somewhat of a THL derby? My rose coloured spectacles showed a game where Hammers played a good game and Newcastle were not shite, these rose coloured glasses have thick lenses. Well done West Ham. Worst performance of the Howe era I have witnessed. For once our midfield was abysmal, Bruno and Joelinton terrible. In hindsight, allways a good thing, Barnes should have started ahead of Gordon, who was terrible. When Bothman scores an own goal, you know you’re in trouble. Tonali tried his best but was ploughing a lone furrow. Well done the Hammers, they wanted it more. We will probably hammer Athletico Bilbao on Wednesday at home . Such is our inconsistency. Cheers. lurcherman 887 13,453
Wonder if this garnacho going to be any good for us, seen snippets of some good football but time will tell and if he doesn’t perform he’ll be on the bench in no time.
eastcoast 4,676
Decent game at St. James' last night. Good result, fantastic goal from a giant Geordie and superb away supporters. Met a few who had travelled with several generations of the same family. Only gripe was a minority of our fans who must have thought it was a 3rd round FA cup game and not a Champions League, expecting opposition to be steamrollered. How quickly they forget

How quickly they forget I thought the atmosphere was great; another full house, three UCL wins in a row, great support from both sets of fans. Dan Burns headed goal seemed to defy physics ! Hearing whispers about Anthony Gordon, could he be gone in the January transfer window ????? Back down to earth on Sunday, away to Brentford, can we win an away game ? Cheers.
