seem to be rare these days, regularly used to see fox terrier, Staffordshire, Russell, crossed with whippet, made good little mooching, ferreting dogs etc.

You’d expect them to yap, which can be counter productive for a bit of discreet mooching.

My Russell bitch never makes a sound except when guarding the house, also my male Parson is silent when hunting, it's the only time he's quiet, lol. I think either of these crossed with a whippet wouldn't yap so maybe pick a quiet terrier for the cross?

Terrier /whippets are a rare cross to see in Oz as the whippets or terriers do the different jobs but I would have liked a whirrier when doing pest control for certain spots.
