I think if big perch were regarded as a delicious eating fish here they'd soon disappear, many immigrants here take course fish to eat which is generally theft from fisheries, add to that herons, cormorants, otters, pollution , this little island has to guard what it has , although I'm sure perch and pike make for good eating fish I'd sooner eat them than carp for sure...

Perch are good eating, it's a shame they're slow growing.

In the old days many would prefer pike than trout my grandfather once told me. I've tried pike years back. A good pal of mine cooked it in foil with some lemon and butter. Was caught out of a trout lake. Put it in this fish tin / pan. I'm not a believer in eating fish that we've got in our lakes an rivers. But the fella at the trout lake wanted them gone. So instead of chucking it on the bank we took it for me to try. Because I didn't believe that it was good eating. But to be fair the flakes were decent on the fish due to size. But my pal who's abit older than me. Said the jacks you get alot of small bone's
