It will only get worse with the Marxist Labour Education Secretary Bridget Philipson ! She seems to be determined to bring education down to the lowest common denominator and crush excellence, innovation and personal achievement. My grandson attends an International school abroad and its dedicated to learning, no woke or D.E.I. allowed and if any teacher dared to mention LGBTI+ they would be out the door immediately! We’ve decided he will go down the International Baccalaureate route, rather than the A level route, as it puts emphasis on critical thinking, languages and independence as well as the core subjects. Our education system was the envy of the world at one time…..how sad its decline is. Cheers. My eldest did the int bacc and then went back to Blighty to complete 3 A-levels.

My daughter did ibac in Saudi and Dubai; my son did ibac in Saudi but then did boarding school in England for three years for A levels. They both had good jobs in the international marketplace, my daughter was a manager of corporate accounts for Barclays Bank in Dubai, and my son was Entry Clearance Officer at the British Consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, so I’m not knocking A levels or ibac, just the situation for my grandson leans towards ibac, but his mother now informs us that she would like him to go to university in England, he’s just turned 10, so there’s still time to make decisions on his education. Cheers.

ryaldinhio 5,132
Been busy on the veg garden side today. 3 Bay composter finished. Neighbour dropped me a bucket full of manure so shifted that in the composters. Done my boundary stock netting fence, bit rough but it doesn't really matter because I've got 150 laurel to plant around the boundary, once they are established the fence won't be seen. With the boundary done I joined the veg garden onto the main garden, this was always the plan but had to keep the dogs in. Plenty more to do still! Started the vegs and some flowers off in the conservatory, it just gets used as a greenhouse nowadays!
