But really at the moment I’m a technical project manager who’s also expected to take ownership of an entire product line too. It’s bad practice imo combining the two like that. Oh yeah and I’m also working with the rest of the management team to restructure the tech teams management practices and project processes (devops), insulating them from the boards influence and ad hoc requests from others. We need to get that done and stable to be able to start properly managing the product line. And apparently that’s not supposed to hinder project delivery… Exciting and I’m loving it but the last f***ing thing I need is captain f***ing website literally building roadblocks of his own invention. I’ve just been asked if I know a product manager Can you speak Spanish and do you fancy a job in Mallorca?

The list is endless on what is totally reliant on IT and the people who work in it.

Was fast-tracked into some sort of accelerated learning program and at the moment is a uni student studying something to do with AI,I think she has been to some sort of Google summer school in silicone Valley, I will ask my son the full story, she is genius level IQ, just a skinny nondescript kid who was always in her room or on her laptop, I asked my kid why he wasn't a braniac like his cousin, he just said "my dad's side of the family cancelled the intelligence out".
mackem 29,519
I just checked, in 2019 at the age of 16 she gave a talk at IBM in New York on (and I shit you not) "Gene editing to existing biofuel technology" she was mentored at The Knowledge Society and Moonshot, and I was wrong, she isnt studying AI, she is studying Nanotechnology. 2

I don't believe that someone who's extrinsically motivated by such things as cash could effectively innovate in the tech world. That's important for managers to understand too. If you are a successful businessman who finds himself in need of tech innovators, it's easy to fall into the trap that the specialists you want are motivated by the same things that people in the commercial domain are motivated by.

This is the club she was in as a kid,I think she is on a few of the class photos, the funny thing is when my kid left school we had a few dad/son career mapping sessions, one of the courses he mentioned was an IT course as he liked gaming and building computer towers, I didn't have a scooby-doo but I remember saying "No mate, you ain't going to make a living messing about like a kid" https://tks.world/

That’s some achievement is that mate! One of my best friends is a certified genius, member of Mensa, PHD in AI, MBA (in six fuucking months), he has a side gig as a professor at the top University in Barcelona (possibly Spain), his qualifications and abilities are beyond what normal people do. I’ve just asked him to help me understand a test I’m supposed to be giving to these candidates lol. I understand the maths of it but fuuck me, it’s what they actually have to do on the test that has me stumped and I have degrees in Maths & engineering
