Wolfdog91 6,272 Posted April 17, 2022 Report Share Posted April 17, 2022 (edited) Well was a few hours south today in Slidell helping my friend and his wife move and saw they had a Sportsmen's Warehouse in town so I figured I'd go check it out since I've never been to one of their brick and mortar stores. Always got their catalogs though. Anyhow for y'all who don't know Sportsmen's is one of the bigger box stores that caters to outdoors men. They sell everything from ammo ,guns fishing equipment all kinds of clothing ,archery stuff camping gear ect ect. Same with places like Bass Pro, Cabela's ect. So anyway I had promised a few of y'all next time I go into one of these places I'd take alot of pictures a post soooooo here ya go.and no I'm not trying to flex on y'all , like seriously I could do that without writing all this and posting all these pictures O and I'm .ore then happy to try and answer any questions y'all might have So first off the fishing section: Not gonna lie was nice looking a fly gear up close ,never see alot of it at the house but Christ ....but on the rich side for me O so both these wall on this Isle are nothing but fly tying stuff ,not the actual flies Then crappie jigs and grubs. I know guys who probably have at least every one of these lol All this is just soft plastic bass worms Crank baits Some big swim baits ....which confused me because we don't have muskie or poke down here....gar many would chest one but idk. One of two walls of nothing but tackle boxes Actually did need a new cast net flbut for these prices I'll just hook and line my bait Then some off shore stuff and I'm legit thinking about making these to sell. Heck I can get 100' of that same cable for like $20 and the hooks bulked for like $30 a 100pc looks like easy money to me This is kinda what you could call the trash fish bait section. Stink bait ,punch bait ,dough balls and preserved bait fish for cat fish and carp And this is about the best your getting over here alot of the time for commercial made carp bait. Then again most people who are somewhat serious about catching rather dont even look at this ilse And a selection of bait casters These little baby rods are actually super fun to use. Other then the Gerber mulit tools we got issues in the army....meeehhhhh I really don't care for alot of their stuff. Freeze dried food Not going to lie....really wanna jet boil but that price tag Lodge cast iron is an amazing product but I have enough that was passed down to me Coolers on top of coolers So they have a entire section of nothing but tree stands and I know guys that have like a dozen of them but for the price Reallly wanted some moth calls but their marked up like crazy....though I almost got the squirrel call Suck gear....don't know what's so special about this ammo but Jesus And turkey season started the other week so there's a whole wall of nothing but box and diaphragm calls And can't forget this over priced camo. Honestly it was pretty slim picking in my opinion not much stuff I'd actually like just alot of of the name brand stuff every one is posting of FACEBOOK Reloading components where non existent bullet sure but the guy said it's probably gonna be late next year till powder and primers are back I mean that being said factory ammo selections surprisingly nice ....makes me remember why I cast and reload though Even had some .50bmg and .338 loopy Well I gotta get outta these folks parking lot but I'll post the rest of the pics soon 8 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Sorry 300 something miles round trip , it's 3a.m here and I'm bushed but yeah anyhow So back to the fishing stuff Was actually really looking at getting a fly tying set up for.... reasons This whole wall on the right is nothing but fly tying feathers and fur caps Both of these wall where strictly smaller artificial like beetle spins spoons mini crank baits,grubs jugs ect Nothing but line. You name it, braid ,mono ,floro every friggen brand name all them yuppies like too.... Sorry I'm cheap I get the off brand stuff Ok the left side is nothing but just hooks everything from #16 - like 9/0 snagging hooks the right it's just soft plastic bass worms And again like 70% of this stuff is marked up like crazy. I buy all my hooks and stuff in bulk from commercial fishing places and I pay like 1/5th of what these folks do but whatever. Heck they even sell these 2x4's with an angel cut for hanging your tagers for like $5 a pop Buttttt! They did have something for a steal !! Been looking for these two DVDs for a while now and there a bit had to find. They average around $50 a piece but they had them here for under $30 !!!! Also spent a small fortune in Sheplers western clothing store. Big supprise was seeing all the fishing gear in "normal" supermarkets ! Rows and rows of it. Lotta gas stations around major state parks and the like with let you by gas ,ammo,live bait ,hi ting and fishing licenses, snacks,camping gear , fresh cooked food ,beer and cigs all within about 50 feet I'm not even joking. Went into one to pay for gas they had a cricket breeding deal and a fridge of different tins of red worms,wax worms ,night crawlers,skipjack, chicken liver in the corner of the store next to to the beer cooler , about 10 different kinda of ammo behind the register next to the smokes a hot bar with everything thing from fried pork chops to mashed potatoes and gravy and....well you get the picture the south is wild man 5 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
