Bit different when her husband is the greedy c**t though isn't it? He's happy to put up taxes on the ordinary working bod who has no chance of dodging it without getting bent over while knowing that h

Bloody hell, how’s your luck, what would that have come too? £100 maybe?

Fancy them going through the auction records of a live stock auction and saying “hmmm, what’s this hundred quid ?”

Absolute bollocks about the auction lads

What system is there in place for the auction to account to hrmc when on auction days the cash in hand work is unreal ???

Down the road from me is one of Britain’s  biggest livestock auctions.
Mrs worked there in the cafe , most of my mates worked there on big sales , I worked there as a kid at nights washing pens out . Never a pay slip mentioned.

5 or 6 of my closest mates show sheep , the ones that don’t place go straight in the sales, none of these go in the tax mans pocket

I reckon you’ve been grassed up by a neighbour for the sheep pal

The tax man played a game with me.

"Why do you think you are here"?

"Have you anything  to declare? etc etc"

I refused to answer.

Eventually he SHOWED me the record from the auction mart.

I was relieved that that's all it was.

On my second visit I was able to show receipts for grub, building materials and vet stuff and that was that.

But I had to take time out for a transaction of around £120.

It wasn't a dig by the way no malice intended.......?

I was meaning like covid these people can show what they want on paper so the books add up so to speak...we all hide something ?...

But the chancellor of the exchequer would be a bit more savvy than me or you when it comes to corruption...

After all he does it every day to us without the vaseline..think what there hiding...in money.. ?

I remember when I was a kid I had a paper round. The paper shop owner was always screwing us out of wages, and we screwed him by pilfering chocolate, comics and fags.

One morning some big lads, three or four years older than me walked into the shop. One of them created a disturbance by knocking over a paper wrack and the  others filled their jackets with hundreds of fags and big glass bottles of sweets.

When he found he was down, the owner  blamed us and "fined" us out of our wages.

That's always been a lesson to me. Firstly if you're going to steal, make it worthwhile, and secondly, the little people often get blamed  and pay for the crimes of the big fish. It sums up the tax system.
