Deep Hole Markers?

Recommended Posts

? Yeah. I just don't seem to get on with those things, myself, mate. Done quite a bit of sticking shit to hard stuff, round here, over the years. Some point, I gave up on them and tried new shit. Concrete screws are the bollox! Bit over kill for this job though.

Bottom line is: I'll still need to drill a hole. I want to know Where :good:

Cheers, Brambles. I never even realised they did concrete screws that thin and long. Mine are pretty fukking brutal things.

Guys; I Still need the Deep Hole Marker though. Length of 2 x 2. Drill holes in it. Place wood along predetermined line of fixing. Use DHM, through holes, to mark wall / floor fixing points. Take away wood and drill marked holes for concrete screws.

I've looked at Hiboom: Seems they can be cheaply made.

Pica get good reviews. But, which model / type, please? Seems there's several types. I'll be deep marking on concrete / rough plaster. I'd also like a finer lining pencil, for general wood marking. I'll happily buy a set. Price not an issue.

:good:

Cheers, Hams. I'd actually mentioned Tracers, in my above. Then decided I was saying too much for the house concentration levels and wiped it.

But, yeah; I really wanted to like them best. They get slated to fukk! :( Can't remember how / why now. Studied so many today!

The power powder pushers? Lovely concept. Sadly, I've seen photo's of the carnage :icon_eek:

Nope. Everyone seems to be raving about the Pica ones. I'd just like anyone who's got some to advise which one(s) I'd be best getting.

As Brambles says, 6mm straight through your work and into the concrete. The fixings make their own thread and provided you pack the gap between you work will not distort the frame. No need for plugs. We have been using this fixing for quite a few years and thank the good Lord for not needing Rawlplugs any more. Jok.

 Fukk me, that went over my head! (Lot going on, today!) With ye now! So; I punch 6mm holes along my 2x2. Then, lay it on and start whacking these things straight through the lot?

That Does sound like the easy way! Do ye reckon they'd handle solid, natural stones?

Thinking about it. The only thing to make sure of is not going too near to the edge of (if that is the structure) either brick or stone. The drilling would probably split the edge and then clearly the screw would have no core to go into. Hope that makes sense pal. Jok.

Thunderbolts,. Drill and screw .?

Got them, D. Used them, to fantastic effect. But, they need a pilot ~ at least ~ hole in the wall. Sort of brings us back to the very point of this thread. No?

Also, I can only get them in 100's, at the size I need. Packs of 10 or 20 would save me having most of them left on my shelf. The screws come that way :)

I'll still be after a doobry though. Long felt I wanted a 'pen' to mark shit with.
