Ask Your Ladies, Please, Lads?

Recommended Posts

I've found that most woman have an absolutely automatic and natural sense of colour matching, They seen to instinctually know what goes with what.

So; I'm thinking of painting a cupboard / unit a shade of green very much like the shades below. There's plenty of room for variance yet. These are random examples I found at a glance. I'm probably thinking something in between.

I'd like to know what colour the counter top on it might be :)

Let's see what the females think.

Well, this has turned out fascinating! Mrs King nailed it, when she said Black. I'd already pencilled in ceramic tiles. Black ones? How much more 'Mans Kitchen' can ye get?! 8)

Then, Sid shows us that swatch. That reminded me that I asked a similar question here, once. Someone's lady suggested Terracotta as a trim to a pretty dark green. Not a million miles away then.

Then, I googled 'Grout Colours'. They do Beige! Rather like Sid's.

Black tiles with beige grout?! ? I dunno! Just sounds fukking Great, to me! The black just speaks for itself. But, the beige will So compliment the 'darker side of' green! I reckon it'll look fukking fantastic! :boogy:

? Hark at me! Wanting to colour coordinate shit in my kitchen all of a sudden! I'll be getting in touch with my feminine side next. Learning how to accessorize!

Apparently, women tend to have more cones picking up a particular colour (I think it might be red) than men.

My wife and I had an ongoing argument about whether her car was "blueish green" or "greenish blue." My argument was "What the hell would you know? You're terrible at colour co-ordinating...plus I've got a degree in Fine Art!"? But, when I found out the science behind it, I had to admit she was probably right.

It's an amazing subject and one I find fascinating. I still can't see (no pun intended) how my daughter (and so many other people) will swear that tennis balls are green when, to the rest of the world, they are undeniably yellow.

I thought that was "blue and green should not be seen unless there's a colour inbetween"..fck knows where I got that from ?

Yep...that's similar to what my Nan always said, "Blue and Green should never be seen, unless there's something inbetween." Then again, she also often said, "Well I could 'a' seen a rowin' boat."

Oh, don't go and fukk it up, now, mate! I was smiling in my sleep, dreaming of how lovely it's gonna look!

Anyway, yeah. I'm pretty sure it is 'Blue and Green'. (Fukkin hell! Haven't heard that in a life time!)

Tiny quadrant beading is next on my list :spiteful: I'd give you nightmares, Kanny! This is how I do my wood work. I think of thr Thing. Then gradually figure out how the fukking hell I'm gonna make it! ?
