Give me a clue on the phone Ken.

Old style phone; go on the contacts and it'll give you the option on each contact to save to phone or Sim. Select Sim and they'll be on the Sim.

Smartphone, just download clonephone and it'll copy all the data to a new phone easy peasy.

does it have things like internet/ camera and app store? is it a touch screen?

It's a phone not some fantasy futuristic technological prototype.

I must’ve had a smart phone maybe 15 years. Never ‘update’, just keep adding to contacts. Reckon I must have at least 50-100 I’ll never ring again (unless I hear they’ve won the Euro-millions) and a dozen at least that are now dead ?Funny I can’t bring myself to delete the numbers of dead people off my phone. Is that normal, or am I weird?

Back up and sync device contacts

Back up and sync device contacts by saving them as Google contacts:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the 'Settings' app.

  2. Tap Google and then Settings for Google apps and then Google Contacts sync and then Also sync device contacts and then Automatically back up and sync device contacts.

  3. Turn on Automatically back up and sync device contacts.

  4. Pick the account in which you’d like your contacts to be saved. Your contacts can only be automatically saved to one Google Account.

i know this works because i use my gmail for everything except emails, because of this my misses has my gmail to watch for important stuff. it keeps replacing her contacts with mine - mainly her mum and dad lol

Okay. I've just done all that. Went to my gmail. Nothing in there that I can see? ?

you wont see it but basically if this phone dies you get another android phone , connect to your gmail account and restore. it will then like magic put the contacts in the new phones phonebook
