Gumtree.ie 11 month old kelpie

I'm not into the herders not for any other reason only the rabbits are not there like they used to be but looks like a nice dog chocolate and tan not badly priced at 500 euro considering the price of dogs now if anyone is looking for a pure kelpy bit of a bargain..

i know its a working dog mate but its not the work a lurcher man needs unless its a quarter the other 3/4 is longdog lol

You’d be surprised how many people run heavy bred collies in the uk , I was anyway , there’s a few lads on here who run full collies , 3/4 collie 1/4 grey ,5/8th collie x full collies , just to name a couple , there no speed demons but on moors ,dales, and ferreting they  seem to be holding there own

i havent been out with one mate they alot like a collie mate few bunnys clever sneaky and guard as good as anything lol

My brother had a good 5/8 collie 3/8 hound. Was a good dog on the lamp and one of the best gaurd dogs iv ever seen. Point of the finger and a hús no one was safe

Thanks for the advice.

Anybody want two pure kelpies, one seven years old and one three years old. Would swap for 3/4 greyhound 1/4 something else.

Doesn't look a bad type of kelpie, you wonder why they are rehoming. Some are hard to live with without work or not enough. The farm behind me had 6 which weren't worked enough and would start barking on their chains at dusk and finish at dawn. Half a k away and it was unbearable.

I gather a lot of people in the U.K. expect kelpies to be just like collies but tougher in the heat so, when they don't start herding from the nest, they assume they're not interested and pass them on. I can fully understand why. If you have a breed of dog which excels in your climate and starts working early, why would you bother with one of those weird foreign things?

There's a decent one on the old film lurcher mania only a young dog at the time just starting to show potential. Sods law the poor f****r gets hit by a motor.

Australian cattle dog pups 2500 euro here, dogs in ireland have gone crazy prices could get beagle for 150 euro last year now you won't get one for less then a thousand euro now
