It mad how far things have moved on from the £2:99 petrol station bbq..?

I bet a large rack of smoked ribs would be great though..a chongers dream mate.

And to think I was happy with a peperami after a few bongs ??

Well it arrived today it was delivered on a pallet and weighed over 200 pounds, took about an hour to put together, I gotta say I’ve never bought anything packed so well even the eternal plates and grills were in plastic bags in a form of oil to protect them.

I followed the manual to the word as you have to prime the pellet smoker and do an initial burn off to burn off all the factory oils I did do a little cook on it just home made cheese burgers they came out fantastic moist Smokey and the smell was amazing no smoke leaks whatsoever just out of the chimney which you can regulate.

it also self cleans by burning off all the old food and you just brush down the grease channels into a bucket on the end which collects it all, it’s so well thought out you can see why the Americans love it

I’m looking forward to doing a long cook on it an initial large layout but you’ve got something that will last for years it’s heavy duty and solid with thick steel better than the B&Q efforts.

Go on then. What’s damage to the bank account??

£799 for the smoker I bought x3 bags of pellets and got 1 free and got a discount of £12 on a cover about £880 the lot, considering the use I will get out of it and it will last years good value compared to the Traegar ones that are selling in garden centres for much more.

Well I’ve been experimenting a bit yesterday I done a smoked chicken I did a before photo but forgot to do a after I put it down to excitement ?.

Today I’ve got half a pork shoulder with a a home made rub which has rested all night, the plan is 1 hour intense smoke setting with apple wood pellets 2 hours low & slow at about 200-250f every hour spraying with this years home made cider then another 2 hours wrapped in silver foil with a bit of cider placed in the foil let’s see what today brings ?

A couple of pics of yesterday’s Chicken and some pics of the pork as it went in the smoker enjoy.....
