Ken's Deputy 4,463
For some time now ~ 'Years' ~ I've had bother with my lower legs sporadically itching. Fronts of my shins. Just below the knee to about the ankle. Weirdly, the left leg seems way more effected than the right? Mentioned it to a random mate, of about my age, like one does. He reckoned, as we get older, our skin Does dry out and so become more prone to this shit. Went to the pharmacy. He suggested moisturising cream. He actually dug me out a tube of the cheapest he had. So, he wasn't trying to make money out of me. It's about 90% fukking water anyway! That must have been a few years back now. I'm just finishing my second 200ml. Just made me wonder; Anyone else experienced this sort of shit? I don't mean life long eczema sufferers or anything. This isn't like that - Thank god! It just seems to be a shit of life effecting, perhaps, those in about their sixties, upward? Anyone?

Chid 6,830
I suffer with this and 9 times outta 10 it's an allergic reaction to something , my left calf gets itchy first then a couple days later my right one will start and I can literally scratch them till they bleeding .. Washing powder and soap are the major causes of it for me .. an anti histamine and cream normally sorts me out

Ken's Deputy 4,463
I'm sorry, Ginge. I didn't mean to bring anyone down, mate. I'm just pondering an occasional irritation. Thought I'd throw it out to others past the half century and beyond. Just for note comparisons and curiosity.

Ken's Deputy 4,463
Chid; Sorry, mate. I was actually responding to you when GB came through, and the system in here distracted me and I clicked the lot away. Sorry. No. I've heard For Ever that it's 'Washing Powder'. Not in this case. Just take my word for it. This shit is purely and simply 'Me'. There's no rhyme or reason to it. Except that, as my mate said; 'It comes with age.' This is why I'd like to hear from those Of a bit of age. Especially anyone else who's been good as gold and normal, all their lives. Then gone past fifty, at least, and got this shit. I understand - and accept - the facts that I can no longer hear shit. Can't see shit. Can't hold shit. This, we learn, is all part of the ageing process. But, no one's ever said to me: " Oh and fukk yeah!!! You just Wait till your left shin starts itching!!! "

Having Today received the Levelling Compound I needed? I'm free to get the fukk out of bed and get moving! This won't be a one day job. But, hey! Even better; It'll be the start of a Shit Ton of days when I'll wake up, already eyeballing what's to be done next! And, best of all? 'Tomorrow'; 31st of October. November Eve. Start of The Barren Time. I get to light my stove!!!!! Got lots of other reasons to be unbearably upbeat. But, let's not go into the politics of this glass houses blocked S bend, shall we?

jukel123 9,750
It's an age and winter thing. Turn down the temperature on your shower head. Only half dry yourself with a towel and apply moisturiser. Cut your fingernails short so you can't scratch yourself. Use moisturiser on the affected areas. Wear long socks covered with moisturiser and a vest covered with moisturiser. Try and get some water into the atmosphere at home. Simplest way is to dry clothes on a radiator. Works for me.
