Simple floats can be made from wine bottle corks and bird quills. Goose quills are good as are peacock and swan.

How I test the weighting of the lure , just keep adding or subtracting lead until you get it balanced and sinking how you want it

Hard to say I just have a couple of hours here and there mostly while the mrs is watching her shit lol it should get a faster process once ive done a few  and should look better again once the clear coat resin is on it .

Made a little bait drill from an old door handle and a little screw top box from a plumbing fitting.

First one clear coated with UV resin and finished ,picture doesn't do it justice I'm well chuffed with the result

My DIY  lure turner for ensuring a even coat of clear coat resin ..a microwave turntable motor and some MDF..works a treat

Just wondering if you could drill a hole and fill with sponge so you could inject a bit of fish oil.

No it's a pike lure the originals were based on a trout shaped hence gliding trout
