Puzzler about deer?

Recommended Posts

So driving back from work seen a deer roadkill an got me thinking ,

you can’t go on a farmers land an take game ie deer as it’s poaching , transfers from one farmers boundary to another as the beast crosses.

So is a road/public highway a grey area

also if a livestock came out on the road an caused an accident /damage ,I assume you can claim off the farmer/owner

so how long before someone try’s claiming off a landowner for a deer leaving his land and entering the road

And no I’ve not been  drinking an I don’t do drugs ?

Wild deer becomes the property of who Evers land it’s on , so if it’s hit in the road it’s the local council/highways agency

farmed deer would come under the same rules and regulations as any other farmed animal .. farmer would be liable

The small cottage I stay at in Brecon is just off one of those long winding roads that every man with a motor bike has to go screaming along most weekends and when I was last up there in June the farmer who,s land borders the road had lost 26 sheep since January that's an average of one a week, doubt he,s paying out every week or are there different laws in national parks or were animals graze on open moors, doubt the local butcher sells much lamb up there when you can pick them up for free all spring

What if a pheasant caused an accident? Does the blame fall on the shoot owners.

No cause pheasants are classed as a wild bird and so ownership becomes who Evers land the bird is on .

We where talking about something like this the other night , my wife brings home a few road kill deer , if she was stopped would there be a problem them being gutted or bled ?. seeing she found them at the side of the road

As long as your dogs or guns are safely tucked up in bed and your misses can keep to a storyline you,ll be fine, as we move forward in our digital life even the law are becoming more reliant on photographic and DNA evidence but as DNA is rather expensive they won't use it unless it's a serious or repetitive crime and as long as no one has filmed a certain person leaving the deer were your wife finds them you,ll be fine, no picture no conviction ?

The problem will be time and stress, the deer is relatively unlikely to be stressed if it was killed outright, but if it was injured and took time to die the meat will be tainted.  Likewise if you don't bleed them out quickly you get a similar result.

It would take something special for me to stop and collect a road kill deer!
