First pheasants of this season for me.

Took my double frontloader and I was glad I had.

The first bird ran out in front of me and lifted, flying away and right I aimed down his right and dropped the hammer.

As he crumpled another bird appeared and did a similar move.

Good distance shots around thirty yards, maybe a little more.

Jessy whispered she wants a squirrel so I got her a few down to play with.

Good stuff.

I have 2 main sites for the Pheasant/Partridge, both like to hold off until 1 Nov!  Get a handful in general Pest Control sites though.

Good shooting Nathan. What load do you use in the double front stuffer?

Mate. I was dumping about 75 GRN of kranks fine black powder, a few thin cards for a wad and a single card on top of 1&1/2oz (36g) of #6 shot.

 How daft is life, all but ran over one in the car today, but not even shot at one this season!

Funny you should say that. I cringe at running over anything in the car but shooting it is no problem! Go figure!

Must be 8-9 years ago I was coming back from a site with my lad down a narrow country lane, and this rabbit would just not get out of the way, I crawled along the road in the car and it simply ran down the road in front of us, it went on and on, in exasperation I eventually stopped the car, got out and chased it off the road.

I had 20+ rabbit in the boot we had just shot....go figure!

Driving home the other night and saw a hedgehog walking in front of the car stopped and watched it as it made its way across the road , me and the wife both said “aww ain’t that nice “ at that moment a golf GTI came zooming up , didn’t even slow and splatt, no more Mrs Tiggywinkle . Got to say me and the wife were both upset and annoyed. I know I shoot stuff , but you can still feel sympathy.

That's typical of VW drivers, self centered unfulfilled egotistical numb skulls " get out of my way" individuals.

That should stir things up a bit.
