Greyman 32,403
They do the same thing over here with otters mate, I have a large land drain near me that's devoid of life, in the last few years they have released at least 3 lots of otter in there, they have all been run over crossing a main road looking for food, while the people responsible pat there selves on the back for putting otters in every county of England
pesky1972 5,686
Sounds like a monimental disaster orchstrated by the well meaning but fcuking clueless ‘greenies’. You can’t ‘re-wild’ a place without re-installing all the components required to attain a balance.., and without an apex predator then this is always likely to be the outcome. So management/culling is always going to be required. Like red deer in the Scottish highlands..., and how the roe population here will need soon too.

sussex 5,803
How did they allow the numbers to increase to such proportions in the mild years , knowing you have a fenced area and only enough grazing for a certain amount of animals it doesn’t take the greatest mind to know at some point it’s going to go tits up when you have that cold winter ..With no apex predators to control numbers it was a forgone conclusion..
