Lowther 185
I've been told that my pup is going to be fully vaccinated by 7 weeks and ready to go outside at 8, has anybody heard of this before as it is unheard of to me I've always though 8 & 10 weeks were the time for jabs, is this legit or am I being spun a web? Cheers for the help lads Quote Link to post
Str 793
I’ve just had a pup done a 8 weeks then 10 for 2 nd jab, vets said pups have to be a minimum of 8 weeks for first jab. Quote Link to post
fireman 10,795
The only time iv'e heard of folks jabbing pups early is due to some problem like parvo around the kennels, while a pup is on mum it's quite protected immunity wise and hence why they were jabbed early as they would have come in contact with the virus when weaned off totaly. 4 Quote Link to post
Lowther 185
I know they have been weaned early because the dam is very small for whippet greyhound about 17tts and she had a litter of 7 and he was worried about burning her out so they were on food at 4 weeks, but I haven't been informed of parvovirus or anything like that, cheers for the reply lads 1 Quote Link to post
jiggy 3,208
Inject again to be sure. You don't have to be trusting them then. 2 Quote Link to post

Chid 6,384
Certain jabs are a single dose and can be given from 6 weeks I think .. Quote Link to post
socks 32,253
Pups have a natural immunity passed down from their mothers milk up until 3 months of age ........ 1 Quote Link to post

socks 32,253
Personally I don't panick about jabs and get them done at around 10 weeks of age but that doesn't stop me taking my pups out and about from around 5 to 6 weeks of age ... the more they see and hear and experience at that age the better socialised they become as adults ...... 3 Quote Link to post
Phil Lloyd 10,736
Socialisation is paramount... 1 Quote Link to post
Lowther 185
So what do you reckon then get him out and about as normal and get him jabbed at 10 & 12? Quote Link to post
Daniel cain 43,371
Had a pup done at my vets, few weeks back, he had 3 separate jabs 2 weeks apart, was news too me needing 3? Didn't cost any more money 1 Quote Link to post
Daniel cain 43,371
I personally wouldn't trust any jab that didn't come direct from a vet and administered in front of me... Lost pups payed good money for because I took the word of the cnut that bred them and who put cheap jabs into themnight off the pop you get them jabbed, wormed, flead, kennel cough, chipped by a professional..... No brainer really 4 Quote Link to post

No brainer really Might be a no brainer to the experienced but I'm just starting out that's why I'm seeking advice, I think I'll just go straight from breeders to the vets with the pup and get it all done myself 1 Quote Link to post
