I remember going to the North Bank at Boston, Lincs. We had caught loads of bleak on the way and set up on the darkness. We caught a lot !! Into bags and off back to Northampton where the catch was put in the bath in suitable 2 inch chunks. Was the most amazing thing I'd ever seen with each chunk jumping about like it was electrocuted. As was explained to me later. The nerves were still jangling. Anyhow, following day down at the Buffs, we had a nice dinner. Spot on. Jok.

To be fair GL this was around 1971/72. Also at this time we had the Youngs guys coming round the pubs with all sorts of sea fish. They had these huge baskets with eels, cockles, whelks, crab claws and goodness knows what else. To be honest, with a pint of Watneys Red Barrel these were welcome in the pubs every Friday night. Jok.
