The one 8,534 Posted June 16, 2017 Report Share Posted June 16, 2017 My sons been parking in Tescos car park while he went to work , its finally caught up with him he got a letter threw yesterday saying he had overstayed his welcome and the fine was £ but if he paid it straight away it was reduced to £40 , Im saying sod them im sure a mates wife got the same they got a few letters then it all died a death . Its a photo of the car and reg sent by the dvla as there saying they dont know the registered keeper or if it was hired etc ? Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Its a photo of the car and reg sent by the dvla as there saying they dont know the registered keeper or if it was hired etc ? the dvla would not send a letter and photo of your car, and if it's on private land IE telco it will have nothing to do with the dvla so I suspect it's made to look official, it will be a private parking firm and unless they are a member of a certain association they cannot even ask dvla for your info, have a look online there are lots of dedicated web sites offering advice, but basically unless it is a member of the said association all advice will be to ignore any correspondence as they are just fishing for info and don't even know your name Quote Link to post Share on other sites

If the car isn't registered to him and theres no photo of the driver tell them to do one. There is no way they can prove who was responsible. How did he get a letter if its not registered to him ?? It's all about money, it costs a good few grand to join the BPA and then each time you request a drivers address you simply pay a fee to the dvla . The industry has tightened up a bit in recent years I here, almost % percent of tickets are paid and what are not are pursued letter after letter or some times passed on to a debt collection agency. The £60 charge is split, forty to the parking company and twenty pound to the site ie tesco or aldi or even your local carpet shop car park. ( I am only talking about private company's not council tickets, different ball game them ). Some companies will not take the tickets any further than scare mongering tactics,as if % of tickets are paid straight away it's easy money. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
