Sirblessed 2,511
The most common question I get is, what do I feed my ferrets? Mainly whole rabbits, puppy mince with egg once a week and I add petvite (Pet multivitamin) twice weekly mixed in with the mince, I also give them chicken and other meat scraps (no processed meat) they do very well on this diet. Just remember in the wild all they eat is prey so the closer you can stay to this the better I.M.O. Thoughts ??? 1 Quote Link to post

stoggy 598
I feed mostly on an evening rabbit, hare and pigeons as i find they are the easiest to get. Also feed them goose and pheasant and the odd squirrel.Am giving meat in smaller portions so that all is eaten and none is left in the cages now the flies are about. Also give a few biscuits for during the day. 1 Quote Link to post
Bobtheferret 1,271
Mine are only ever fed on rabbit with the odd pheasant or chicken thrown in, always done very well on it. They turn there nose up at dry food. Don't think you can beat fresh meat, look at the teeth on them that's all they eat in the wild. 2 Quote Link to post

They dont get much mate, a tin lasts about 2 years just for trace elements, not realy needed but it doesn't hurt Quote Link to post

Aussie Whip 4,287
I like giving eggs few times a week, there coats are always shiny.I think the wild versions would raid bird nests for them. 1 Quote Link to post
rabbit demon 302
Mine get fed mostly rabbit and whole chicken. They also get feral pigeons and hare the odd time. I give them sardines and mullet which is one food they will nearly start scrapping over. Got one wee jill that would rather eat greyhound nuts and bits of potatoe from the dogs bowl than any raw meat put down to her. Shes the only ferret iv ever saw eat vegetables of any kind. 1 Quote Link to post
bowburnbandit 20
I feed mine a mixture of game (basically what I get through the season, they get liver and kidney etc mixed in, they love Mackrell every now and then and a n egg once a week. I do have a hob ferret who won't touch meat at all, the only thing he ever eats is dry food (alpha ferret)I am assuming that he was fed on this for the first year before I got him and now he seems stuck on it..... Strangely enough he is my best worker but won't eat rabbit so don't know how that works lol. Quote Link to post
