It's A Con!

Recommended Posts

Last year my mate ran up an £8,000 bill on a company iPhone, while using some music app. Luckily for him, it was one of the two company owners that recommended the app.

The app was automatically taking the money from their account, but they were in the process of getting a lot of the money back.

I completely agree that he was a prat and my ipad has a lock on it to prevent my kids doing thr same but £99 for an in app purchase? That's insane and a complete rip off...I've seen on my daughters games what you actually get for these mad prices...some gold coins or some diamonds...or perhaps a 'special' character that you can't have unless your parents remortgage their house. Companies should not be allowed to charge prices like that...especially when the games are aimed at children

I can partly agree with that, daveee, but the internet isn't for kids.

Kid has access to credit card, reads to me, drunken sailor on shore leave.

I know that kids are usually more tech savvy than their parents but this story should read a further warning of why people should not roll all of their personal data into the hands of a company like Apple.

Security isn't meant to be convenient.
