king 12,011
Right this tree is getting a bit to big. And I want to shape it a bit. I'm not sure of the proper name for it looks like a conifer of some sort. I wouldn't mind cutting it into a cylinder shape. Like a bog roll. But am unsure if it will fill out if I cut it back hard. I don't want to end up with a shit looking tree with just bare branches etc. Has anyone else had any experience with cutting the same tree into a shape.
moxy 617
You can only cut it back to green growth. If you take it back to the dry brown it won't recover. You can do as you please with the top

Greyman 30,618
I,m not a fan of conifers and one of that size will soon be uprooting your fence, they also stop anything else from growing near them as they take all the moisture and natural light, even grass won't grow to close to them, my advice would be to rid yourself of it while it's still a manageable size, or as others have said use the trunk for a bird feeder base,
pesky1972 5,602
It's an eyesore. Cut it down before one of your neighbours gets in first.
DIDO.1 22,855
That's one ugly tree. I like the fruit tree idea. Get a good plum tree. Ours got so many plums on it we had to prop the branches to stop em snapping

king 12,011
I was hoping to cut it back hard.as I'm planning on building kennels and runs to the right of it. I do like fruit trees but no room for them. Chop it down it is then.
