Accip74 7,112
This week Vinyl sales in the UK have overtook downloads for the first time..... Obviously this does not reflect that more people stream their music for free, but it's still reassuring that some things will never die... I've got a fairly modest collection of Vinyl that is still very precious to me. I've moved 6 times over the last 10 years & it's always remained with me while streamlining other possessions & I haven't had a record player for years! Haha....however all my CDs still remain in box's in a garage in the UK. I'll hopefully get a turntable soon & over the years introduce my kids to the pleasures of vinyl & record shops.....:-) Any vinyl lovers on here?

Not updated, I still use most weeks and have done since I bought my stacker system in 1983, not a scratch on it, now termed vintage. Technics.

Accip74 7,112
I dont play my old vinyl any more but i'll never part with it. I'm as guilty as anyone for using things like spotify, but I do hope to rekindle my relationship with vinyl & record shops :-), as much for my kids as for me. The down side is the price of vinyl here. 20+ euros for new releases & not far behind for the old stuff! :-( It may just be an occasional treat.

jok 3,480
Still got the old system. When I have a downer, which isn't very often, on it comes and invariably Who Live At Leeds comes on or Tommy. Full blast with the phones on. Fckg Magic. Still got boxes and boxes of singles but at the same time have hundreds of cassettes which I obtained whilst in the Middle East. Most are a Riyadh label aptly named 747. Jok.
cragman 2,843
Still got lots of vinyl in the loft. Loads of singles and a few iconic albums too, from the sixties and seventies. Got a few decent northern soul toons as well. All my pocket money went on a single most weeks?
Waz 4,293
Had loads pinched by an ex, it was the day the music died for me for a few years. Still got a few bits including my The Orb 12"s. Just bought a few new 12"s last one was The Stone Roses vinyl, ive just not got nothing now to play them on. Few bands of late been to see their new stuff including on vinyl, nice to see. Used to love rummaging records at boot fairs. Could I buy a turntable that goes through the p.c.? or one with a built in preamp to play through my guitar amp via jack? Im due another xmas present to myself see
