The smart money is on Pascal Wehrlein as he is their test driver and recently took part in their tyre test. I pray to god though they go with what would get the fans wet and what would make the sport massively exciting again, Fernando Alonso. After last weeks episodes I feel they are going to be boring and go with the safe bet......
pesky1972 5,660
Shocker!!! Says he's climbed his mountain and apparently wants to spend time with his family. Must be chucking some wedge away mind. Last man to reach the top and chuck it all away..., Tyson Fury. Wonder if Nico's dipped a doping test ?
socks 32,253
You almost feel he lost his bottle and knew he won by the skin of his teeth due to hamiltons engine failiours rather than on his driving ability and thought fukc it in getting out on top ... after this seasons preformance I would think most would be looking at verstapen as a driver for their team .........
TOMO 29,110
yeh bit of a piss take that was on sunday telling him to speed up,,,no competetor would give up the championship without a fight,,,,merc had won the championship weeks earlier,,,so who gives a feck about the last race ,,,,let them fight it out... saying all that ,,,what were they going to do to hamilton ,,,sack him,,,i dont think so
sussex 5,803
Got to fancy Vestapen getting it , he seems hugely talented ..should provide some excitement if they let them go toe to toe ..
DogFox123 1,379
He's been in F1 since 2006, he's hardly a newbie to the sport. Verstappen leaving Red Bull just ain't happening no matter how mouth watering it is for the sport. Nico knew well the driving gods were firmly on his side this year, Lewis was the better driver and deserved it but motor sport doesn't always play ball.

I can imagine being a F1 driver is one of the most paranoid jobs in the world.
KES2 171
My theory is that Hamilton was going to leave for the rest of the season when Rosberg ran him on to the grass and wiped them both out. Mercedes refused to censure Rosberg but I would suggest they agreed he could continue and win this year but not go beyond, as he had become Schumakerish - MS did not add glory when he returned, showing more of his 'win at any price' attitude rather than real talent. As for the replacement, Jenson Button would be a solid performer and is free. Maclaren need Alonso to push progress and Red Bull will not let their golden boy go I suggest - rumour has it that Nax is headed for Ferrari when his contract ends. In the world of F1 anything is possible and this may be far from the truth of it.
johnny boy68 11,726
Vettel and Verstappan are tied up in contracts, not sure they'll shell out to get either of them. I think they'll go for somebody like Weirlien(sp). I wouldn't be surprised if they try and get maybe Button or Massa to fill the seat for a season until they can get a top driver in. walshie 2,804
Everyone's got to quit sometime. World Champion and a mutil-millionaire seems as good a time as any.
DogFox123 1,379
Being a diehard Hamilton fan and going along with the notion that the team sabotaged him for much of the season, after thinking about it logically it seems absurd that the team would do that to their star driver. Of course they are going to have a favourite, that's human nature. To deliberately hinder one of their own cars just doesn't make sense.
DogFox123 1,379
It's either Wehrlein, Bottas or Alonso for me.

DogFox123 1,379
yeh i dont belive that about sabotage myself,,,and personly i always thought ,,they favoured hamilton ,,,espesialy niki louder Lauda did appear pro Hamilton for the 2014-2015 season but this year it flipped around definitely, both Toto and Lauda have been blatantly pro Nico this year. I'd like to think that would not affect their professionalism but who knows? A lot goes on behind the scenes that we don't see. That's two teams that have apparently gone against Lewis, maybe he is a pain in the arse to work with...
