mark williams 7,568
Well I`m disappointed. Took the just bought Sport mk1 for a good zeroing session today and the piston head ( I believe and made of leather) has given in. I phoned the rfd up and has offered a full refund or he`ll get a gunsmith friend of his to put a BSA piston head, re sized into it. I`m taking the refund and might give up the ghost on classical hunting. A FWB Sport mk1 with a BSA piston head is a mongrel isn`t it I might look for old HW springers ? ah well Quote Link to post

mark williams 7,568
Yes lads, thank`s DJ, Now considering the HW route , maybe an old 77, or in .177, we`ll see. I had that FWB on a 5p group at 27 yds in less than 5min`s yesterday, she was awesome, then all power went and the head was gone . The old Tasco 4x40 is def` staying, - what a scope that is ! mark williams 7,568
Just a bit "deflated" or pi$$ed off mate. She`s a bloody mongrel with foreign parts Mac. I had her how she should have been for 10 minutes, she was incredibly accurate, pellet on pellet with ease. I`ve actually owned a mongrel sport,- kept it a fortnight and fired it off, she was eratic. Seriously thinking HW 77 or , if there are no leather piston head issues involved. 1 Quote Link to post
bigmac 97kt 13,828
Chances are Mark even an old hw will need some work mate so you may as well sort this one for what it will cost she dis-serves that dont you think atvbjimmy  May cost nothing if the rfd is going to sort it for you so you have to wait a few days were,s the hard ship in that Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,568
Yes he`s offered to repair it f.o.c. via the piston head replaced. I`ve pm`d Simon for advice and he also reckons it`s the end for the Sport ? I`m out shooting today, - fancy taking Rexy out, - bad moods and the T Rex makes for a lethal combination.
