So Much For A Fwb Sport.

Recommended Posts

Well I`m disappointed.

Took the just bought Sport mk1 for a good zeroing session today and the piston head ( I believe and made of leather) has given in.

I phoned the rfd up and has offered a full refund or he`ll get a gunsmith friend of his to put a BSA piston head, re sized into it.

I`m taking the refund and might give up the ghost on classical hunting.

A FWB Sport mk1 with a BSA piston head is a mongrel isn`t it

I might look for old HW springers ?

ah well :hmm:

Yes lads, thank`s DJ,

Now considering the HW route , maybe an old 77, or 80 in .177, we`ll see.

I had that FWB on a 5p group at 27 yds in less than 5min`s yesterday, she was awesome, then all power went and the head was gone :cray: .

The old Tasco 4x40 is def` staying, - what a scope that is !

You fecking old fart giving up the ghost at the first fence

and as for bsa piston heads wish you lived closer as i would give you a lone of the bsa lightening fully tuned to with in an inch of its life and next to no recoil what so ever

Get it sorted

then get out there with it

to many lads waiting for your write ups of your hunting exploits

with the old girl

so give her a new lease of life fit a few modern parts to her and she will be ready for another 40yrs

At the end of the day did you really think that the parts would last another 40yrs Mark

She was all ways going to need tlc at some point and i thought you were the best man for it

GET HER SORTED AND ADD HER TO YOUR COLLECTION OF FINE RIFLES

SHE WILL BE A WOLF IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING

Just a bit "deflated" or pi$$ed off mate.

She`s a bloody mongrel with foreign parts Mac.

I had her how she should have been for 10 minutes, she was incredibly accurate, pellet on pellet with ease.

I`ve actually owned a mongrel sport,- kept it a fortnight and fired it off, she was eratic.

Seriously thinking HW 77 or 80, if there are no leather piston head issues involved.

Chances are Mark even an old hw will need some work mate

so you may as well sort this one for what it will cost

she dis-serves that dont you think

May cost nothing if the rfd is going to sort it for you

so you have to wait a few days were,s the hard ship in that ;)
