Drop Rabbits For Pups

Bit of advise please ppl and opinions wanted what age would you introduce a drop rabbit to a lurcher pup as my dogs are 5 month old and haven't yet seen a live rabbit they have had dead ones cheers atb

Illegal or not I find it a very strange thing to do when your could take em ferritin or lamping to show them a rabbit.

Well that's that idea out the window lol lamping it is then one pup is more switched on than the other as well my tan bull pup is the clever one of the two and is one game puppy lol

Have mine out ferreting at 5 months would never drop a rabbit for a pup

There's some that even snap the back paw of a dropper shocking

Yeah that's what I'm thinking they got to be old enough to spectate and watch the older dog do abit

I give my dog about 5 runs at 10 months old he caught 1.

Hes 17 months now and im just starting him on the lamp.

Plenty of time.

Grow a strong bond first.

Once the dog like and wants to be with you.

And trusts you.

He will be eager to please you.

But everyone is different.

I have a Saluki x which is 10 month now started her around 7 months and she works the lamp quite well now room for improvement must say but getting there but like you said I knew she was ready for it

The heat must of killed her 3 month a go lol..just take ya time mate..there really is no rush.my pups a good 15 month and she's seen not a lot tbh..when this weather drops. It's all go

She's not been out a hell of a lot mostly in the pissing down rain picked it up quickly to be fair to her

Well no need for then dropped rabbits mate..get it out end of the season and bag a good bag up..enjoy the sting and summer then next season u will be at it
