TOMO 28,500
No Ray ,,,dust mites don't bite,,,,but there are many insects that do,,,and this is where the confusion comes from,,,as the other pesters have said,,,,bed bugs are real hard to get rid of... My old Forman always said if he had ever got them ,,,he would rip everything out his bedroom,,,including skirting boards,,carpets,,,the lot would be on a bonfire,,,befor he started with the chemicals... And the lesson here is,,,,,if at all possible,,,and I know some folk have limited finances,,,,be very careful buying second hand bedroom furniture ,,beds ect Quote Link to post

I had one of them the other week...I didn't know what to do with myself..I nearly passed out with the rush... she even had suspenders on and the dress was up practically over her head as she sat there wide legged and pointing at her little bites on the backs of her legs ... Dam shame she was about 85 years old. . . I kid you not ! it was scary. Quote Link to post

stop.end 4,082
lol...yea there called static bugs I believe..ive never had a call out for them but I have heard of them. Quote Link to post
budgie123 163
We get a number of these calls every year and your responsibility before applying any insecticide is locating an insect which justifies its application. We use basic eco traps and these have picked up insects of concern in both domestic and commercial premises. Some of these issues can be quite emotive with very distressed customers . As others have said bed bugs are very difficult to treat time consuming requiring repeat visits. location of bites can be an indicator with cat and dog flea biites below the knee. customers dont have to have pets to have fleas. Static electricity is what is termed cable bug where paper shards and carpet fibres become charged with static and dicharge onto people leaving what looks like a bite. More associated with commercial offices full of electronic equipment and man made fibre carpets. There is a web site called tech letter and there is an excellent article called mystery bugs to treat or not which gives information on environmental issues in buildings which give rise to these reports. At domestic situations be aware some times it is in peoples minds and i just get a gut feeling in certian situtions with the nature of the conversation that it is non insect related. 2 Quote Link to post
thefensarefarbutistillgo 2,630
Dusting under the carpet edges and behind sockets with diatomaseous Earth is good practise when treating bedbugs Quote Link to post
