Ratmanwan 66
Had a call out to a 'bad smell ' in a log cabin holiday let. Traced the smell to bathroom and lifted a board to find 15 dead frogs, some with the guts pulled out and two still alive. Cabin is in the woods next to a wildlife pond. They were obviously stored there but by what ? No droppings, footprints or any other signs. Anyone fancy a guess ? Quote Link to post

ratbuster 808
Polecat (mustela putorius) By biting the neck of the frog, they paralyse them for storage. 1 Quote Link to post
talpa 55
Depending on the size of entry could be an otter, they often eat the meat from the back legs, guts and back leaving the head, shoulders and front legs. I have found them killed and stashed in clumps of reeds at the side of our pond with some eaten as above. Quote Link to post
EDDIE B 3,170
Could do with more info. Where's the entry hole, and how big? Quote Link to post

Ratmanwan 66
The cabin is about 1 and a half feet off the ground but boarded in all around. There is pipework under the building but access is very difficult to see under. The gap between joists is about 6 inch. No otters around here and Deffo no room for a cat. Quote Link to post
