Jonjon79 13,340
I did try a ProSport - Nice rifles. It brought back childhood memories....... of the wanky aluminium catch that used to keep my bedroom window open Give me my .22 TXhc any day. The engineering is perfect and it looks good. Also. Clair West (Air Arms MD) told me personally that the TX is purchased by blokes that are secure in their sexuality - They released the ProSport to satisfy the other demographic. Ya ProTwats 2 Quote Link to post

Rez 4,957
What's the actual chat about now on this thread? There both quite literally the same rifle. Air arms, being a company that wants to make money, has created a different looking rifle that is exactly the same internally, and thought, "these look a bit full bore like... Shall we charge more for them?" What makes the rifle shoot differently, and they do indeed shoot differently, is the structural differences. Nothing more. PS's are 'generally' lower on power mind. Imagine, TX Mk2 (that's one before yours Mark) comes of the line... superb, Air Arms... "We could make a new rifle from this, one that 'shoots sweeter' (let's lower the power as standard) and looks 'more appealing' and charge 150 quid more?!" Claire West: "give that man a pay rise." In other news, we'd all bend west over It's just what the shooter prefers when it comes to the TX PS debate. You homo's. 2 Quote Link to post

Shall we charge more for them?" What makes the rifle shoot differently, and they do indeed shoot differently, is the structural differences. ........................ That is exactly it. The TX was a ground breaking rifle. But it has been around since Adam was a lad so Air Arms needed something else to get some of the existing TX owners to put their hand in their pockets and buy a new rifle from them. They did virtually no R&D. Didn't need to as it was arguably still better than the competition. They just designed a few bits to change to make it easier to load and handle better different. And then the marketing boys got to work and came up with the phrase: "The Pro Port is the next step up from the TX." Which will have sowed doubt in the minds of many who were happy with their old TX rifles. That's exactly what they were after. To get as many people as possible to sell their TX and 'upgrade' to a Pro Sport. More money for Air Arms. The truth is as you've put. They are the same rifle with slight handling differences. Same power levels and virtually the same weight as they are made from the same bits. But people still believe and quote bollox to justify their choice and try and undermine the other rifle. Don't they Mark? Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,549
No, not at all Mr Nicepix The impression I got was that you dislike and get agitated at any mention of the TX being better than the Pro Sport. Lets not drift away from the fact that the TX being better is merely my opinion and " that`s it". So again I say to you, We fail to agree don`t we,- so,- " let us agree, to disagree" - end of story. The TX is still better though. atb 1 Quote Link to post
