Welsh_red 5,057
Just wanted a little advice or thoughts from people here about my dog going to the toilet . I know the internet is a amazing thing and answers can be found anywhere but people on here seem to know what their on about . I used to feed my dogs Dr Johns silver and after asking on here about a better quality food for them i decided on Gelert country choice. Theirs 3 or 4 flavours to choose from and i flit between all 4 and the dogs have absolutly no problem with that . Neither have been fussy eaters since weve had them . Aplogies for the graphic detail below Recently (last few weeks) our big dog vinny has had some trouble when hes going for a dump . The first 75% of the toilet time is solid mess and as i expect . The last 25% of the time he struggles like mad to get it out and its runny as f**k . First 75% of the time the crap is in 1 place . The last 25% of the time hes walking around and hes squeezing and it leaves 4 or 5 little runny spots over the place . Just came back in with him now and he managed to get some on the back of his leg hes struggling and moving so bad . The little dog has been fine as far as ive seen Next door has 3 yappy little king charles and the lady came round yesterday in tears . 1 of her dogs had died . She said it was fine the day before but was off its food in the night and at 4am she got up because the dog was howling (which it apparenlty never does) , when she went down it was covered in shit and blood and they took it to the vet at 9 where it was put on the drip all day where upon it died by 4pm . The vet said that it had the hallmarks of poisoning . The dog has since been buried without a post mortem so theirs no way of finding out what killed it . At first i thought she might be accusing me of poisioning it but she was just warning me to keep a eye out for my dogs . Theirs been rats around the back gardens on the street as the house next to me is empty after the previous owner died and occasionally the sister of the bloke comes round and rummages thru the sheds and takes stuff to the dump etc . Then rats start appearing . Does anybody have any idea what this could be with my dog. Like i said the majority of his crap is of good quality its jjust the end bit that seems to be his problem . He strains like mad and id love to go squeeze him like a tube of tootpaste to help him .
delswal 3,819
With the best intentions of those on here you will not get a definitive answer, if you value your dog and have a genuine concern regarding the possibility of poisoning go to the vets asap pal.

pesky1972 5,688
There's loads of good info on raw feeding on the internet, not least on this site. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/forum/173-barf-diet/ Socks is right though, if you put shite in you'll get shit shite out. Tiercel 6,986
01269 822248 Happy hounds minced chicken carcass fresh or frozen. Roughly 50p a kilo the weight of the bags vary between 2.8 and 3 kilos £1.50 a bag, it's good stuff. They are based in G C Gerwyn but deliver all over the place. They also do tripe and ox heart. Give them a ring and ask when they are in your area. TC Edited May 22, 2016 by tiercel

The one 8,594
I would of moved on to Dr johns gold after feeding them Silver but changing them to a new type of food might be causing the problems , Then as said there glands sound compacted and need squeezing . feeding raw will help and it keeps the dogs amused while chewing bones
