skycat 6,174
Ken, she has a really lovely, intelligent kind eye. You've got a good one there, I reckon, in my very humble and non expert opinion

One of the daughters horses follows her like a dog. She had her down her house to give her a grooming, went to get more water from the kitchen and the horse followed her into the house. http://www.llanellistar.co.uk/Llanelli-man-cheers-girlfriend-bringing-horse/story-28898965-detail/story.html TC

mushroom 14,095
Fuuckin horse in ma house ? Not a sniff I love horses and intend to buy a house with land here outside the city about an hour away in the next few years and keep mulling about getting a foal. I'd be happy as a pig in shit to get out on horseback with a couple of runners Edited May 4, 2016 by mushroom

gnasher16 31,490
Lovely looking animals horses but i must admit they put the shits up me a bit....a mate of mines wife does all that horse jumping malarky she go,s all over the country with them, beautiful clean graceful animals yet strong as f**k i dont trust them one bit she reckons you just cant treat them like pets and that they have absolutely no loyalty at all maybe its just because they are working horses i dont know......shes been chucked off, booted in the head, ribs crushed but the devotion she has to them is quite touching in a strange kind of way.

The daughter breaks horses part time, the amount of times she comes off is unbelievable, yet she will just get back on and think nothing of it. She was breaking a 17hh horse last week and it started bucking and one of the reins snapped, off she came, no problem, new reins and get back on. I think if horses are in your blood then you doomed to be poor for the rest of your life..Unless you can marry money of course. She had her first at 12 year old and from then till she started to work we could have bought a couple of new cars for what they cost us to keep. It's funny even though I rode as a youngster I was never really into horses. My grandfather was what they called a "Gaffa Haulier" he was basically a foreman in the pits who looked after the horses and broke-in all the new horses, one of my uncles got tetanus and died due to a kick from a horse my grandfather was breaking. beast 1,884
i used to green break ponies for driving, they are clever animals without doubt but they are more controlled byinstinct than a dog; they find it very hard to think things through and the default setting is "if its new or different then its really scary". takes a lot to get them used to new sights/sounds/smells and you really need to start the thinking process when they are young; bythat i mean that a colt which sees new stuff all the time will accept other new stuff more readily. but they are hard wired for flight response which is the main difference to a dog
