Less for blacks though. I don't mind paying it, atleast I know exactly what I'm getting and what each sire throws. Plus all bitches you can track back to where and what they are out of, two bitches Iv looked into have been from cracking line of greyhounds. Just gotta wait for the pup to be born now. Link to post

But £300 for a genuinely bred pup these days isn't expensive. And I'd willingly pay that rather than source a cheaper pup from the majority of clowns that are breeding these days, only to find out a few months down the line that they 'forgot' to mention that there was slakuki, bull, beddy or whatever, even if it's not apparent, on the sire or dam's side. And even if I'd developed a good bond etc with the pup, I'd be far from happy. If I wanted a genuine collie/ grey, of whatever percentage, that's what I'm paying for, and that's what I'd expect. Surely though, there must be someone not that far from where you are breeding genuine pups. Anyway, good luck with your search Link to post
bob84 189
I have been looking for a while now when u keep yourself to yourself and do 90% on your own to avoid c**Ts it get hard to find what your looking for I been talking to one lad thats in two minds if to breed or not because he can't anything suitable to go over his bitch of the same breeding and like you said nearly everybody selling pup will tell u what your wanting to hear on till you've handed over your cash then it has a dash of something else in it its hard to find genuine people with lurchers around me maybe Hancock is the way to go who knows what will happen. 2 Link to post

Yeah had exactly what I described, re clown/lying, happen to me a few years back. Litter advertised as deer/grey x deer/grey/whip/grey. Went and picked a nice dark brindle bitch when the pups were 5 weeks old, paid my deposit, then as we were chatting he let slip the sire, who he also owned and was there, was deer/grey x saluki/whip/grey. I left it at that. Personally don't see anything wrong with going to hancock, you know what you're getting, plus he's got a litter of reverse 3/4 breds due about now I think. Anyway, good luck Link to post

A lot of Irish fellas have the hancocks. I know one fella who breeds collie lurchers in Ireland and his waiting list (cos he don't breed often) is too long, il be waiting probably 15 years lol I don't know anyone else breeding collie xs. And tbh I been stung with my last pup, was a complete nightmare, so Ye to me an extra 200 quid for a pup is nothing to me, no supprises and whoever don't like Sally or David, they can't say they don't know how to have a litter of pups, or that they are idiots or liars. You ask the questions and they tell you straight up 1 Link to post
