Have a look at places outside the norm.

 

Ignore farmers, and look at sports centres , cemeteries, orchards, market gardens , private gardens, industrial estates, . you name it.

 

 

Rabbits don`t all live on farms, and pigeons shit wherever they stop, not just on rapeseed fields.

 

 

Dress smart, be polite, and spend a few days knocking doors.

They are only winding you up! everyones has been there! practice on targets and then go door knocking. It sounds daunting but after a few doors you get into a flow - a tenner of fuel in your car and a bit of effort will find you somewhere hopefully. Good luck and keep at it you will be rewarded.

 

oh and if you are a bit surprised by some farmers attitude towards you take it on the chin and say thanks for your time and leave a card. not all of them are arsey

I have three permissions. Two are farms but the third is the spacious grounds of a very large, very grand hotel with a lot of lawn and flower gardens, bounded by copses of trees where a lot of warrens are hidden away. These lawns and garden areas are being scoffed and dug-up by rabbits. There are rabbits out at all times of the day and a good dawn and dusk walk round the grounds produces a lot of bunnies in the bag. The only snag is you need to be aware of guests strolling about. But I've not had a problem with anyone objecting to the bunnies being bagged.

 

Try asking the manager/owner if there's one like this near you. The gardener will shake you by the hand!

 

(And handy for a beer after your shooting ).

I once had a permission at a nursing home where I shot the rabbits and sold them to the their chef who dished them up for the residents. Talk about win / win!
