walshie 2,804
I was in a pub yesterday and they had a great roaring log fire. There was a plastic jug beside the fire with a brown liquid in it. A man poured some of it on the fire and it seemed a thick syrupy sort of liquid. The fire didn't flare up and it didn't die down. What could it have been? It's been bugging me but as the man who poured it on was the local pisshead and everyone was avoiding him, i didn't want to ask.

walshie 2,804
I just wondered if it was something to make the burning wood smell nicer, but it didn't and it didn't make it burn hotter or damp it down. One of those mysteries i guess.
