mattwhite 1,993
It's quite a while since I've been on due to work....tonnes of it actually, so I've not been out hunting much but over the last couple of weeks I've managed to get out in the evenings a bit. You know when your happy with your rifle (mine being AA S410F classic in .177) but something is just niggling at you for a change....well I had that niggle so I have gone from my trusty AA to a Weirauch hw100 th in .177. To be honest I have literally just walked in from doing said deed and haven't even fitted the scope. I'm sure there are a lot of different opinions on the hw but it feels great and hopefully I will get her zeroed tomorrow am. Do they need any bedding in as my AA was on the money pretty much staight from the box. Any opinions will be greatly appreciated. Kind regards. Matt. Quote Link to post
Rez 4,961
Mine was on the money straight away. It might not of been on the minut level... But after 14 shots to get the barrel leaded, it was spot on. I started off with H&N and found my own 100 barrel liked a softer pellet, hence now use AA Fields 4.52. Even the swop from pellet to pellet was dead on. Quote Link to post
Seamaster 153
Make sure you give the barrel a good pull through before you get started mate. They're often coated in factory gunk to prevent rust and it takes some clearing if you don't pull it through. Chris 3 Quote Link to post
philpot 5,104
Mine seemed to be on the money from the off. I did shoot some cleaner felt pellets with Napier power clean oil then away we went. For some reason I just do not connect with AA guns. I got a 410 for my son in law at Christmas, very smooth to shoot and accurate but I prefer the HW by a million miles, I know, it's just me. Phil Quote Link to post
mattwhite 1,993
Thanks for that fellas. I did inagine it would be fairly spot on out of the box but being new to weirauch a pro opinion is good. Regarding AA rifles, ive never had any issues but it just doesnt feel quite as solid as the 100. Quote Link to post

vizlauk 1,568
Spot on from the box but as chris said - clean the barrel ; you will notice the weight difference between you s410 and hw100, both highly rated air rifles. Quote Link to post
mattwhite 1,993
Yes there is a good difference in weight and i have to say how quiet the hw is compared to the s410 Quote Link to post
Merlin21 143
Great choice .. happy hunting .. Quote Link to post
bigmac 97kt 13,834
Yes there is a good difference in weight and i have to say how quiet the hw is compared to the s410 Very quiet but then again if you have the hw mod fitted to the 410 then on Parr with each other just about atvbmac  Quote Link to post
VWman 232
I got one in 177 then got a second one in twenty two and love them. Quote Link to post
Lloyd57 98
You will not be disappointed Matt the 100 is an excellent rifle, Lloyd Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,568
Great choice Matt i too own two, kt in .177 and the ks in .22. As said mate clean the barrel out thoroughly and then lead her in with your chosen pellet and "stick" with that choice. I and many other lads use Air Arms Fields Diablo 8.4 grain, very accurate and extremely hard hitting. You will hit 5p groups all day with that combination out to 40 + yards easily. A big tip with any HW 100 is to give the loading side of your magazine the lightest of sprays with say Brunox gun oil, your 100`s group size will tighten up even more after that for a good 100 shots. Enjoy Matt Quote Link to post
mattwhite 1,993
Cheers Mark. I will give that a go. After putting the scope on and cleaning the barrel through i then put 20 pellets through to get started then went onto zeroing it. 6 shots and it was on the money with jsb exacts in 4.52 Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,568
Put at least a good 500 through her Matt and then settle your final zero mate. atb Quote Link to post
