Charliejack84 6
Really dumb question but its better to ask you guys than google as having a dog live outdoors seems to be frowned upon by pet only owners. Question is, at what age would you move a pup terrier outside to kennel? Wife is adamant that the dog will be outdoors, i think when she see's it that may very well change but since i am collecting a small kennel and run at the weekend doesn't hurt to ask. howdeeposxxt 1,449
It doesn't really matter what age once their bed is dry and warm simply. All the best. Quote Link to post

fireman 11,393
Well take a 8 week old pup away from it's dam and siblings and chuck in a kennel and it will howl, whimper and be pretty p*ssed off with life soon enough, where as get the same puppy socalize it with the family, teach it some manners and slowly introduce it to the kennel and when it shows it's old enough to cope with the kennel full time then outside it goes a much happier chappy... 9 Quote Link to post

Rabbit Hunter 6,613
I work long hours so its the responsibility of my lass and daughter to have the pups in the house and socialise them etc. Until they go from being cute little bundles of joy to little shits chewing the cupboards and pissing all over the place then they get their marching orders and are put out in the kennels.? 2 Quote Link to post
Daniel cain 48,843
Nothing worse than getting up in the morning walking down stairs fresh pair of socks and stepping in piss or worse shit between your toes,my wife and the kids have my dogs out of the runs for a few hrs a day when I'm working, only wish she would pick up the shit lol,my kids live for the dogs and ferrets and makes me proud as punch watching them all bonding and getting on,in fairness they do alot of the socialising for me and I do the feeding, walking and hopefully enjoy the hunting when the time comes.atb dc 5 Quote Link to post

wezza 396
I bring pups in for a couple of weeks get them used to being handled and being around humans etc.. soon after its out in the kennels they go. Never had any bother doing it this way and all my lot are well socialised and steady. Mind you I think it's some times warmer in the kennels then the house the amount of kingspan I put in them!! Lutra Lutra 611
It makes a change to hear of a terrier man who thinks about the welfare of their dogs, although there are many good owners of course. Quote Link to post

Lol make sure the kennel is dry, warm and give the pup plenty of attention all is good.. Feed right exercise etc nowt to feel guilty about.. 3 Quote Link to post

It sure ain't about guilt mate and i'll drop my terriers in to that dark no problem about that ,it's about doing whats right for the terrier and it's head state as i think to many make it hard work for themselves and their animals .. Mine are born outside and separated from the dam at 6 or 7 weeks, then housed on their own outside, they have an habit of fretting for a day or 2 then settle into the environment they where born to,their socialisation starts and ends outside.I don,t want my workers in the house and learning house habits. 1 Quote Link to post
